Manual recordings :

For manual recordings, the phones microphone is always used as source.
Pause/Continue is only possible for Wave codec (only XRecorder)

The default audio source after installing is microphone (“Mic”). This should work for all

Some phones are able to use audio source “Voice Call” for recording of both parties.
Audio source “Voice Call” has been tested on Sony Ericsson X-series with success.

Also select your appropriate call codec (mp4, 3gp or wave) in preferences.
Wave codec is not recommended for call recordings.

Selecting wrong options may cause the phone to restart.

Ringtones :

Press long on a recording in Player and tap on ‘Use as tone’  if you want to set it as ringtone, notification or alarm tone.  Tones could be restored from system settings.

It is possible to customize the background used in this app. Just transfer a jpg image called ‘background.jpg’ to the XRecorder folder on the SD-card. Be cautious and keep the filesize below 50kB.

Filtering on “Unknown” will catch unknown numbers represented this way.

Be aware that contacts often include the country code and may not be suitable for filtering of e.g. outgoing calls.

Tap on names in filter to see number.
Press long on names in filter to edit or delete.

Note: Max 20 phone numbers are  allowed in each filter.

    Hi,

I have SonyEricsson Phones, interested to try PhoneTapper (free) or XRecorder to record high quality voice call for both parties in SonyEricsson phones.

Have trouble to install PhoneTapper. It is said “this item can not be installed in your device’s country” in Android Market in my laptop.

I also tried Android Market on the mobiles, I can not search both PhoneTapper (free) or XRecorder in the Android Market on 2 phones.

I am in China, with X8 flashed Orange France, X10 mini pro flashed with UK.

If your SW limmits countries, which countries you allow to install the SW? Should I change customer code to the relevent countries?

Hi, my SW does not limits countries. There must be some other limitations ?
BTW both app’s require at least Android 2.1.

    Hi,

    Both phone are Android 2.1.

I guess that Android Market has some policies , ex, some SWs are limmited to some countries. or Android Market may have agreements with some operators with distribution of SWs.

I posted a simillar question to Android Market. and waiting response.

It seems that Android Market does not have unified interface as Apple. I can search many useful SWs in PC’s Android Market, but they are missing on the Android Market on the mobile. It is Confusing.
