Manual recordings :

For manual recordings, the phones microphone is always used as source.
Pause/Continue is only possible for Wave codec (only XRecorder)
Option” Gain” is only available for Wave codec .  Automatic gain controller (agc) is default.

Call recordings :

The default audio source after installing is microphone (“Mic”). This should work for all
phones. To improve recording of the other part, turn on the phones speaker.

Some phones are able to use audio source “Voice Call” for recording of both parties.
Audio source “Voice Call” has been tested on Sony Ericsson X-series with success.

Also select your appropriate call codec (mp4, 3gp or wave) in preferences.
Wave codec is not recommended for call recordings.

Selecting wrong options may cause the phone to restart.

Ringtones :

Press long on a recording in Player and tap on ‘Use as tone’  if you want to set it as ringtone, notification or alarm tone.  Tones could be restored from system settings.

Customized background :

It is possible to customize the background used in this app. Just transfer a jpg image called ‘background.jpg’ to the XRecorder folder on the SD-card. Be cautious and keep the filesize below 50kB.

Filters : (only XRecorder)

Filters could be applied for both outgoing and incoming calls.
If an outgoing or incoming call contains a number from the active filter, it may be recorded or not, depending on the type of filtering.
Examples :
Filtering on “ +47” will catch all incoming calls from Norway  if used as incoming filter.
Filtering on “Unknown” will catch unknown numbers represented this way.

Be aware that contacts often include the country code and may not be suitable for filtering of e.g. outgoing calls.

Tap on names in filter to see number.
Press long on names in filter to edit or delete.
